Jon Wolfe goes #1 in Texas with another Deric Ruttan song

Texas artist Jon Wolfe has taken another Deric Ruttan song to #1 in the Lone Star State.  “Baby This And Baby That” (co-written by Deric, Jonathan Singleton and Darius Rucker), achieved #1 status on the Texas Regional Radio Report on August 7, 2017.  This is the third Ruttan/Singleton collaboration Wolfe has taken to the top of the Texas charts — his last single, “Boots On A Dance Floor” (Ruttan/Singleton) was #1 for Wolfe in Texas on December 5, 2016.

#1 Celebrations in Nashville for “Any Ol’ Barstool”

On Wednesday, August 2nd, Broken Bow Records recording artist Jason Aldean held a Triple #1 Party for “Lights Come On”, “A Little More Summertime” and “Any Ol’ Barstool” at The Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.  The party celebrated the last 3 #1 songs for Aldean, and honored the  songwriters and publishers – including Deric and co-writer Josh Thompson, the writers of “Any Ol’ Barstool.”  In addition to receiving both high praise from Aldean and #1 Song plaques the songwriters joined Aldean and his band onstage to perform their respective hit songs.  “Any Ol’ Barstool” is Deric’s 4th #1 song (in America)...

Deric wins 14th SOCAN Award for “Came Here To Forget”

At the 2017 SOCAN Awards in Toronto on June 19, Deric was honored with a SOCAN Country Music Award for “Came Here To Forget” (co-written with Craig Wiseman and recorded by Blake Shelton).  Each year, SOCAN (Society Of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada), recognizes the writers and publishers of the year’s most-performed songs across many genres of music, including country, pop, rock, urban, classical and music written for TV and film.  Deric’s award for “Came Here To Forget” is his 14th career SOCAN Award.

Deric wins CMA Ontario award for Songwriter Of The Year

At the 5th annual Country Music Association (CMA) of Ontario Awards in London, Ontario on June 11, Deric (along with co-writer Craig Wiseman), took home Songwriter Of The Year honors for “Came Here To Forget”, recorded by Blake Shelton.  The Bracebridge, Ontario-born singer performed a new song from his upcoming album at the sold-out Centennial Hall show, and participated in an all-star tribute to Canadian music icons Blue Rodeo, performing “Hasn’t Hit Me Yet” alongside fellow Ontario-born artists including Tim Hicks, Jason Blaine, Meghan Patrick, Cold Creek County, Rivertown Saints, and members of the rock band Finger Eleven.  This is...

Jason Aldean is #1 with Deric Ruttan song “Any Ol’ Barstool”

Deric Ruttan (and co-writer Josh Thompson) have the #1 country song in America this week with “Any Ol’ Barstool” (recorded by Broken Bow Records’ Jason Aldean) on both the Billboard and Mediabase country music charts.  “I’m feeling incredibly blessed today,” says Deric.  “I’ve had two #1 songs inside of 11 months — it’s crazy.  I’ve always wanted an Aldean cut, and to get to share it with Josh, who has become a good friend — that’s a pretty cool feeling.”  “Any Ol’ Barstool” is the 3rd single from Jason Aldean’s 7th studio album They Don’t Know.
